Getting the most out of the manually operated V91 Max tape and hard drive degausser

The V91 Max hard drive degausser is designed for low volume operators who want a cost-efficient yet effective solution to completely destroy hard drives and remove security threats associated with magnetic media.

Complete erasure is guaranteed every time with a 7000 gauss field in as little as 12 seconds per hard disk or backup cassette. 

How it works

The user inserts the media on the top of the degausser and turns the security key to the “On” position to erase hard drives. The magnetic field is activated by pressing the red “Power” button, and the media is kept in place for three to five seconds. The magnetic field can be turned off by pressing the “Power” button. The operator should then apply the magnetic field for a further 3-5 seconds while rotating the media on top of the degausser 90 degrees. The process should then be repeated with the media turned over for a total of four degauss cycles. The media will be fully wiped after the fourth cycle is finished.

Safety inbuilt

The magnetic field of the V91 Max is concentrated towards the top operational surface, where the media is degaussed, for safety reasons and to comply with the most recent ICNIRP Magnetic Exposure Guidelines.
